The Seniors’ College Association of Nova Scotia (SCANS) is a volunteer-run nonprofit that offers engaging, academic courses for lifelong learners aged 50 years and up.

Why Join SCANS?

Discover intellectually stimulating courses with no exams, no pressure—just the joy of learning alongside peers who share your curiosity.

Classes run once a week for 2 hours over 3 – 6 weeks. You can join us in person in Halifax, Liverpool, Mahone Bay, or Truro.

Prefer to learn from home? Many of our courses are live streamed and recorded, so you can participate from anywhere in Nova Scotia.
