Announcing: Private Group Culinary Cooking Class & Dinner!
The ADRP has organized a private group cooking class for members and their guests at the Flying Apron Inn & Cookery again this year! Register by September 1st for this very popular event (maximum of 10 participants).
Send $85 for each member and guest (the ADRP covers the rest) by e-transfer to the ADRP Treasurer at Treasurer@theadrp.ca. Indicate that the payment is for "Cooking Class" and who the payment is for. Additionally, email Mary Brooks at m.brooks@dal.ca with the name(s) of those who purchased a spot(s), a contact telephone number, and whether there are any allergies among them. Note: space in the class is not secured until payment has been received by the treasurer.
Accommodations at the Inn are available (on your own tab). You must contact the Inn directly to arrange accommodations.
Professors Emeriti Network Zoom Meeting
CURAC invites ADRP members to attend this meeting featuring the presentation "Retired professors use artificial intelligence (AI) tools. Sharing best practices.", which will take place on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. ADT.

Retirement does not have to mean the end of academic collaboration. AI tools can help retired professors maintain existing academic contacts, discover new colleagues and research interests, and continue contributing to academic and professional communities.
During the meeting, we will discuss practical ways in which AI tools can support professors emeriti in:
- maintaining communication with former colleagues and students;
- discovering relevant research, publications, conferences, and academic networks;
- preparing and sharing academic materials;
- developing new international collaborations;
- participating more actively in online academic communities;
- overcoming geographical and institutional barriers to continued cooperation.
The meeting will also provide an opportunity for the participants to share their own experiences, examples, and ideas about using AI tools for continued academic engagement. We believe that continued academic engagement after retirement is an important dimension of active aging. AI and digital technologies can make it easier for experienced academics to remain connected, productive, and visible in the academic community.

A monthly Dal - AC Coffee & Chat is held in the Truro area on the first Thursday of every month starting at 10:00 a.m. Starting in June, it will be held in the Alumni Gardens on the Dal-AC campus (at the Food Court in the Hub Mall on Robie Street on rainy days). Bring your own beverage when chats are held in the Alumni Gardens.
Later in the year (usually starting in November), the group gathers at the Food Court in the Hub Mall, Robie Street.
