Dal Requires Password Change

Over the next few days all Dalhousie staff, retirees, faculty, former faculty and project account holders will be receiving messages to change their passwords.
Dalhousie University is experiencing a cybersecurity issue. We believe there has been no breach of privacy, but to ensure our network and data integrity, all staff, faculty and project account owners are required to change their NetID password and any other passwords used on Dalhousie systems. Please ensure that your recovery email is updated in the password reset page.
Our team reacted immediately upon learning of the incident and took steps to secure our systems and mitigate the impact to data and operations. Leading external cybersecurity experts have been engaged, their investigation is ongoing and is our top priority.
We are committed to data safety and are taking this matter very seriously. We are using industry-standard security measures to ensure that our information systems and data are secured.
Staff and staff retirees must change their passwords by July 13Faculty, faculty retirees and former faculty must change their passwords by July 15 and those with project accounts must change their passwords by July 20, in order to avoid their account access being disabled. Your files will not be affected.
To change your password:

2.    Select “Change My Password”

3.    When prompted, enter your NetID (without including @dal.ca)
